The Villages at Shawnee Bend, a one-of-a-kind ~700-acre luxury residential development, was conceived in 1996 and opened in 1998 by Shawnee Bend Development Co.’s Master Developers: Thomas Biggs, Lorraine Perkinson, and Dale Perkinson. Together, these three visionaries bring experience spanning more than 200 projects across 33 cities.
Their vision for the Lake was to create a class-leading, master-planned community that harmoniously blends preserved wildlife habitat with exceptional living. Their creation has attracted individuals and spec home builders from across the nation to construct custom homes ranging from $500,000 to $17,000,000.
As a result, The Villages at Shawnee Bend stands as one of the most valuable residential communities in the state of Missouri.
The continuation of The Villages is led by Jonathan Brownfield Biggs, son of Master Developer Thomas Biggs. His background includes studying real estate development at Harvard University in Boston, Massachusetts, and contributing to multiple large-scale real estate projects in Miami, Florida. Originally from St. Louis, Missouri, he attended the University of Missouri (Mizzou) for his undergraduate studies and has called the Lake his second home for over 30 years.
Jonathan is focused on advancing the Founders’ Master Plan for The Villages through a strategic expansion of the development. This includes the addition of new prime waterfront and interior homesites on the west side, as well as the dedication of land for future amenities to support the community’s continued growth. He is deeply committed to thoughtful, responsible development that preserves the property’s natural beauty and enhances wildlife habitats for future generations.
